Random video chat online without download
Many platforms work directly in your browser, with nothing to install. You only need to allow camera and microphone access.
How browser video chat works
Modern browsers support live video through a standard called WebRTC. When you click start, the browser asks permission to use your camera and microphone. Once you allow it, the video connection runs inside the page.

How browser video chat works
Modern browsers include WebRTC, a built-in technology for real-time video and audio. That is why a website can start a video chat without any plugin or download. The first time, your browser asks permission to use your camera and microphone. You can change or revoke that permission any time in your browser settings.
Getting it to work

- Allow camera and microphone when the browser asks.
- Close other apps that are using the camera, such as Zoom or Teams.
- On iPhone, check Settings > Safari > Camera.

Why some sites still push an app
Apps allow notifications, in-app purchases and more data collection, so some platforms nudge you towards installing. If a site works fine in the browser, you usually lose nothing by staying there.
